TTC-A24 and UTC-A24 Rounded HDD Cables Review

Both the
TTC-A24 and UTC-A24 rounded HDD cables from Cooler Master are meant
to be improvements upon their competitors products. The TTC-A24 and
the UTC-A24 feature an aluminum foil shield wrapped around the
entire cable to reduce the EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference).
Both cables are 24 inches in length.

At the
end of the cable, you can see where the aluminum foil shielding
ends. The aluminum foil shielding is said to reduce the EMI and in
some cases, boost the hard drive performance.

The
TTC-A24 comes with a clear silver mesh look, while the UTC-A24 comes
with a black mesh look. They both look the same otherwise.

Pull
tabs are included so you can remove these from the hard drive
safely. They also have the connection labeling too.

The
UTC-A24 features a chassis grounding wire. This further ensures that
the EMI will be reduced.

Notice
that the UTC-A24 has aluminum extending even further than the
TTC-A24 does. This cable appears to be the ultimate weapon against
EMI.

Connecting both the TTC-A24 and UTC-A24 to the hard drive and
motherboard was as easy as installing any regular hard drive cable.
Removal of the cable was also easier than regular ribbon HDD cables
due to the pull tab that is on the rounded cable.

The
grounding wire goes along with the hard drive screw.

On the
left side of the arrow, the picture shows the area around the hard
drive before the rounded cable and the one on the right shows how
nice and neat the rounded cable makes after installation. They also
increase the airflow in that area too.
Conclusion:
Both of
these cables feature great looks, they also help clean up the inside
of the case, and they improve the airflow in the case. The TTC-A24
sells for about $16 and the UTC-A24 sells for about $18. I would
recommend getting the UTC-A24, due to the increased EMI protection.
But the TTC-A24 would be great too.
Lets
have a look at some Pros and Cons.
