Enermax Aurora Premium and Aurora Micro Keyboard Review

Enermax is a well known manufacturer of high quality power supplies.  They have recently begun to offer other computer peripherals, such as keyboards, external hard drive enclosures, and notebook coolers.  All of their peripherals are built with aluminum, such as aluminum keyboards and aluminum hard drive enclosures.  Today, we are going to take a look at two of the Aurora keyboards, the Aurora Premium and the Aurora Micro.  The Aurora premium is a full size keyboard, while the micro is the size of a laptop keyboard.         

Upon opening the box, you will be presented with just the keyboard.  In the Aurora premium box, you will find a small piece of paper detailing how the USB audio pass through works.

The Keyboards:

Enermax Aurora Premium

The brushed aluminum housing and diamond cut edges look great, but don't look too great when fingerprints and dirt build up on it.  It should be cleaned often in order to maintain its great looks.

The Number Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock indicators are lit with bright blue LED's

The audio ports found on the left side of the keyboard provide USB Audio so you can plug your headphones/speakers and microphone in.  This can be useful if you are having a VoIP conference call or just chatting.  The audio quality is not too good and if you have a high quality sound card in your computer, it won't even come close in terms of audio quality.  But if you are in a office setting, this is perfect, since it will handle voice chat just fine.

There are two USB 2.0 ports on the right side of this keyboard.

The keyboard features height/tilt adjustment as well, offering three settings.  If it is folded all the way in, it will be flat.  Then, if the smaller foot is extended, it will be a mid height, and if the larger foot is extended, then it will be at its maximum height and tilt.
